Engaging Communities with UNA CMS

A quick look at the UNA features that do most of the work of getting members talking to each other.

UNA CMS is built to help communities do more than publish. Events, groups, discussions and member profiles work together, so people have more than one way to take part. Here are the features that do the most for engagement on this network, and how we use them.

Groups for belonging

Groups give members a smaller room inside a big network. People post more when they recognise the names around them. Most of our liveliest conversations happen inside groups, not on the main feed.

Events for rhythm

A monthly meetup or a weekly office hour gives a community a heartbeat. Guest lists and reminders help, but the real value is that people know when to come back.

Discussions for depth

Forum-style discussions keep longer conversations together, so a good thread doesn't disappear under the day's posts. They work especially well for questions people will search for later.

Notifications that respect people

Engagement isn't the same as noise. We keep default notifications light and let members switch more on. People who aren't overwhelmed come back more often.
